Iā€™m Darion, the owner and primary clinician of Soul Space Psychotherapy Services. I recognize that seeking therapy can be challenging, and finding a therapist that is the right fit for you can be daunting. I hope that by sharing my background, education, training, and approach to therapy below, you will have a better idea of what I offer in a therapeutic setting and how I might support you in growth and healing.

My Approach and training

Working with a therapist who you can be your truest self with is critical to therapeutic success. I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy, utilizing a compassion focused, person-centred, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based lens. Each person is unique, and therapeutic plans should be created as such.

I support clients virtually across Ontario who are struggling with significant mental health challenges including symptoms of trauma, eating disorders and body dysmorphia, family conflict and relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and boundaries work. I strive to build strong therapeutic rapport with each of my clients by fostering a warm, welcoming, and non-judgemental space to explore your current challenges and support you in overcoming these difficulties using various theoretical modalities.

A few of the evidence-based interventions that I use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Somatic Experiencing Therapy (SE) as well as other therapeutic approaches based on client strengths and need. I am confident that I can support you in becoming a stronger and more resilient version of yourself. I will help you to identify your goals and to build an individualized treatment plan to support you in reaching them.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). I hold a Masters of Arts (MA) in Counselling Psychology and have completed various trainings including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Introduction to Somatic Experiencing, Becoming Trauma-Informed, Working Within the Mental Health Act, Healing the Wounds of Trauma, Hearing Voices that are Distressing, Conflict Coaching, and Managing Compassion Fatigue.
